On 18 April 2011, H.E. Ms. Kristie A. Kenny, Ambassador of the United States of America visited Headquarters of the Thai Red Cross Society and presented a donation of US$ 75,000 to Mr. Phan Wannamethee, Secretary General of the Thai Red Cross. The donation is an emergency grant from the American Government to help people affected by floods in the southern provinces of Thailand.
